Looking for an alternative night out in Sheffield? ‘Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque’ is an established club night which showcases burlesque, striptease, comedy, cabaret, vaudeville and drag…not to mention a few other little surprises!
Burlesque is a concept relating to 1940’s and 1950’s glamour, it is defined as a variety show which incorporates a blend of satire, striptease, broad comedy and performance art to present an “upside down style” of entertainment.
"Burlesque is an interesting art form, that contrary to what most people believe, isnt solely or dominantly about peeling (stripping), it deals a lot with body politics and in its hay day raised and mocked certain societal issues of the time" - Burlesque Princess.
Created by burlesque performer and pin up model Deadly Nightshade in March 2008, ‘Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque’ harks back to the nineteenth-century music hall style of entertainment. Deadly Nightshade has recreated this style and given it a modern twist.
This successful quarterly night has been running for over three years and provides thrilled audiences with fabulous themed nights time after time. The night features new and upcoming British burlesque talent such as Sian De Leir and Evie Farrah as well as American burlesque performer, Depravity Jane. It has also featured more established performers such as Lexi Sexx, Ivy Wilde and Adelina Le Shay. The show is often compered by Sheffield’s finest crooner and Compere: Mr. Warren Peace.
We promise to be the most glamorous, friendly and fun filled night in Sheffield! Our event is an exciting night out for anyone who favours something a little different from the current popular club scene. We provide you with the chance to dress up as strikingly and as glamorously as you would like, to experience a fabulous show crammed with vaudeville, comedy, striptease, drag and cabaret, whilst enjoying a very decadent, gorgeous and alternative atmosphere.
