Looking for an alternative night out? Burlesque is back with a bang and ‘Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque’ is an established club night which showcases burlesque, striptease, comedy, vaudeville, cabaret and drag…not to mention a few other little surprises!

Burlesque is a concept relating to 1940’s and 1950’s glamour, it is defined as a variety show which incorporates a blend of satire, striptease, broad comedy and performance art to present an “upside down style” of entertainment.

Created by burlesque performer and pin up model Deadly Nightshade, ‘Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque’ harks back to the nineteenth-century music hall style of entertainment. Deadly Nightshade has recreated this style and given it a modern twist.

The successful quarterly night has already provided thrilled audiences with a 1950’s style prom, a one year special show featuring a LIVE band playing alongside the performers; a fabulous Christmas special boasting a glamorous Grinch, a stocking full of candy canes and a live cookery show/food fight; a masquerade ball featuring glamorous performances and old style cabaret; a summer special with ice cream, bubbles and seaside characters such as a mermaid and a sailor girl; and a debut night boasting a cowgirl and a femme-fatale diamond thief!

The night takes place in Sheffield at various venues including: The Redhouse, The Stockroom and West Street Live. The night features new and upcoming burlesque talent such as Cherry Du Bois, Mama Jenufa, Knickerbockergloria, Miss Trixie Rose and American burlesque performer: Depravity Jane, Sheffield’s very best singer and Compere: Mr. Warren Peace and his highly talented pianist: Steven Kay.

Secrets of the Boudoir Burlesque showcases the best local talent in the best dressed venues and it promises to be the most glamorous and fun filled night in Sheffield! We try to entertain in traditional ways as well as in modern ways, which makes our event an exciting night out for anyone who favours something a little different from the current popular club scene. We provide you with the chance to dress up as strikingly and as glamorously as you would like, to experience a fabulous show crammed with vaudeville, comedy, striptease, drag and cabaret, whilst enjoying a very decadent, gorgeous and alternative atmosphere.
